Advanced security
total flexibilty
Fundamental to the Beyond system is the comprehensive security model. This allows users to be known to the system, and be members of groups, split by functionality or any division.
Beyonds security model allows you to quickly and easily create what are known as Intranets and Extranets, infact you can create any number of these ‘Nets’ in seconds. We call this our ‘AnyNets’ technology.
Beyonds comprehensive security system allocates access to pages according to each users security profile. You are no longer restricted to the traditional approach of having intranets and extranets. With Beyond, you can run any number of ‘Nets’, or 'AnyNets' from the one site. Each user can view only what the security systems allows them to see.
The Beyond security system handles many types of Roles. These roles govern what you can do within the system.
Edit Roles, govern the rights to create, edit and publish pages
The Publisher Role can create, layout, add content to pages and approve them for publication. An Author Role can only add or amend content on a page that already exists; they cannot change the layout of that page and they cannot approve the content. The workflow stores the content they have created in a Pending version, and informs Admins and Publishers that there is work to be reviewed and approved.
Edit Groups have editing rights over sections of a site
Beyond also has Edit Groups; these groups contain the Edit Roles described above. An edit group can have editing rights over only a defined section of the site. This allows larger companies to distribute the management of content across several groups.
Business Engine Roles provide access to business process
Within Business Engines, roles also apply according to engine functionality. As an example, the e-Commerce engine separates the roles of Manager, Order Processor and Product Author. It is possible to assign a user just one role, such as a warehouse manager to the 'Order Processor' Role to let them process and dispatch your orders, but not have access to amend product details.
AnyNet Roles govern what sections a user can see
When authorised users log into the site, a new set of pages can appear and non applicable pages can be made to disappear. You can have an unlimited number of AnyNet Roles, therefore any number of Intranets and Extranets.
